Hendrick's Gin
Consecutively to my work for the Imaginarium for VIllage Underground (UK), I was contacted by the creative team of Hendrick's Gin to create an animation implementing a 'victorian engraving' style for their website.
The poem was recorded in the early stages of production and the voice served as a base to build-up a visual progression through morphing landscapes, reflections, and dreamy transitions, emphasized by the use of Music.
Although the Hendrick's team provided me with many assets, I had to go through a lot of research, scanning old books and preparing them in photoshop in order to get everything I needed in terms of characters, landscapes and architectural elements.
Everything was assembled in After effects through intertwined compositions, to give the illusion of a long continuous take.
If was the first time it was possible in After Effects to bend a layer on its Z axis, allowing for the use of cylindrical shapes - that explains that I used it in every scene.
